UAB Online Canvas Success Website
UAB Online rolled out a Canvas website containing faculty and student resources.  It is a good idea to bookmark this site ( as it will be continually updated as additional trainings are offered and resources become available.
Canvas Instructor Guide
This online guide offers extensive explanations of how to use Canvas tools.  Each guide offers screenshots as well as step-by-step directions.  These guides are continually updated as features are added.  If you have "How do I…" type questions, this is the place to start.
Video Guide
This guide contains an instructor section with short video overviews (3-5 minutes) on specific tools as well as longer instructor training videos.  The instructor training videos are over 1hr, but can be a starting point if you were not able to attend a training session and are ready to dive into the Canvas environment.

This guide walks you through some of the common elements found in Canvas.
CanvasLIVE is a free webinar series designed to give Canvas users additional training and an opportunity to share their knowledge with the community. Each session includes a brief tutorial on a Canvas tool or feature, focused demonstration, and a short Q&A with Canvas experts. There are upcoming sessions as well as archived sessions that may cover topics of interest to you.
Canvas Course Examples
To get a feel for how Canvas courses can be designed, explore the Canvas course examples. These courses are Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and can be freely accessed without registering.  Additional Canvas courses can be found on the Canvas Network (but require you to enroll using a free account)
