Assistant Professor in Kinesiology, Physical Education Teacher CertificationThe Department of Human Studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Education invites applications for appointment to a 9-month non-tenure track position at the level of Assistant Professor in kinesiology, physical education teacher certification. The position begins August 2014. Qualifications include an earned doctorate in physical education pedagogy or related field, a minimum of 3 years K-12 physical education teaching experience, and commitment to both undergraduate and graduate instruction, including online instruction. Doctorate must be earned by August 2014 for candidate to be hired. The successful candidate is expected to teach pedagogy physical education classes at both the undergraduate and graduate level, with expertise in elementary physical education, and including classes such as: motor development, adapted physical education, elementary methods, assessment in physical education, and supervision of student interns. The successful candidate is expected to participate in service activities to the department, university, and community. Competitive salary based on applicant qualifications.
