Jon R. Marstrander joined the faculty of the UAB Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2005. Prior to becoming faculty at UAB, Mr. Marstrander worked in industry, and has over 16 years of experience working as an electrical engineer. His work focused primarily on hardware and software design for numerous projects with aerospace, military, scientific and commercial applications. Design specializations include embedded systems programming, analog and digital hardware design, and Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA). He has been a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Alabama since 1992.

  • Brain imaging analysis as applied to the diagnosis and understanding of Parkinson's disease.
  • Digital image processing and digital signal processing
  • Analog and digital hardware design and software design
