This semester's UAB Expo was noted for being the biggest one yet, with 400 undergraduate students competing on 180 teams across 9 categories. The Senior Design project was sponsored by Atlas RFID Solutions, which produces RFID tags and readers to locate industrial equipment stored in lay-down yards. The teams were tasked with developing a drone-mounted prototype that could sweep the yard and locate the RFID tags. The prototype developed  by Team Hakuna Matata has a custom 3D printed chassis, a rechargeable power source, an omni-directional and a directional antenna, an onboard single-board computer, and a post-processing program. The team would like to thank Atlas RFID Solutions for sponsoring the project and the UAB E&CE Department Faculty for their mentorship and support.
