TheUAB Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking candidates for a non-tenure track position at the professor level. This is a part-time position. The anticipated start date for this position is January 2017, but review of applications will continue until the position is filled. The primary responsibility associated with this position will be to serve as undergraduate program director and associate coordinator for the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The position also entails teaching at the undergraduate level, primarily introductory engineering courses at the freshman and sophomore level.
A PhD in mechanical engineering or related field is required for the professor position. Preferred qualifications include experience in administration of undergraduate academic programs, student advisement, and experience and skills required to teach introductory engineering courses at the undergraduate level, such as technical sketching and computer-aided drawing and design, ethics and safety, basic engineering design concepts, teamwork and technical communications.
