Ph.D. Program in Materials Science (Tri-Campus)

Doctoral Fellowships Available in Materials Science

A limited number of 2019 doctoral fellowships are available through the U.S. Department of Education for students in the Tri-Campus Ph.D. Program in Materials Science.

UAB participates in the tri-campus Materials Science Ph.D. program, an interdisciplinary, interdepartmental, and intercampus doctoral program linking the three universities that comprise the University of Alabama System—the University of Alabama (UA), in Tuscaloosa, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), and the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). This program is separate from the Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering offered by UAB’s Materials Science and Engineering department, providing flexibility for students who may wish to study materials science while based in another department.

In addition, faculty members from across UAB’s campus provide materials expertise and serve on graduate committees for students at all campuses.
