Monroe honored for excellence in teaching

Faculty Excellence

Charlie Monroe, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, recently received the 2019 President's Award for Excellence in Teaching, which honors those who have demonstrated exceptional accomplishments in teaching. He is one of 12 UAB faculty members who will be recognized during the annual Faculty Convocation to be held at 4 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Hilton Birmingham at UAB.

Thomas Receives 2019 Provost's Award for Faculty Excellence in Undergraduate Research

Doctoral Fellowships Available in Materials Science

A limited number of doctoral fellowships are available through the U.S. Department of Education for students in the Tri-Campus Ph.D. Program in Materials Science. Students who want to be considered for one of the fellowships need to submit an application to the Materials Science Ph.D. program for either Spring or Summer 2019.

Cynthia Barham Named UAB Employee of the Month
