After reviewing the information and FAQs on our website, you can always reach IFSIS staff at ifsis@uab.edu and via two drop-in "Office Hours" sessions on Zoom each week.

  • Every Tuesday from 3-5 PM, IFSIS staff are on Zoom to discuss permanent residence sponsorship/administrator questions.
  • Every Friday from 1-3 PM, IFSIS staff are on Zoom to discuss H-1B and other non-permanent residence matters.

Links to both Zoom Office Hours sessions are available in the weekly e-newsletter IFSIS sends to all international employees and administrators every Monday morning. If you do not receive the e-newsletter, please email ifsis@uab.edu to be added to the distribution list.

If you need to book an appointment to complete Section 2 of Form I-9 with UAB, please book an appointment with UAB's International Payment Compliance Specialist.

Laurel initially joined the ISSS office in 2021 and has worked in IFSIS since June 2022. Laurel completed her Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Security at the University of Kentucky’s Patterson School of Diplomacy. She earned her Bachelors degree at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. Prior to graduating, she lived abroad in Shanghai, China with her family where she attended high school and Tongji University. Laurel is proficient in Mandarin and speaks some German and Arabic. In her free time, she enjoys travelling to new places with her loved ones. Currently, she has been to 14 countries and hopes to visit many more in the future!
