The University of Alabama at Birmingham is pleased to announce the availability of special doctoral fellowships for underrepresented students.

The fellowships include stipends of $23,000 per year, plus full payment of tuition and fees and is renewable annually for three years, assuming satisfactory academic performance.

The fellowships are available through a comprehensive recruitment and retention program, which was implemented at UAB in 1989. The goal of this program is to increase the numbers of doctoral degree-holding underrepresented individuals in faculty positions at UAB and other colleges and universities throughout the United States.

All Doctoral Program Areas Considered. Fellowships are competitive and limited in number. Applications should be submitted no later than March 15th annually.
