Meaghan Bourque, M.Ed., NCC, LPC works with individuals to help them utilize their existing strengths and find healthy solutions for stressors in their daily lives. She uses a multi-method approach with a focus on individual strengths and needs. Models for therapy include strengths building and person-centered therapy. Meaghan has interest in therapeutic approaches that emphasize skill building such as DBT and CBT. She focuses her sessions on teaching skills such as mindfulness and emotion regulation as well as challenging of cognitive distortions with the use of thought re-framing techniques. Meaghan is a committed member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Alabama Counseling Association (ALCA), American Counseling Association (ACA) and the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). Meaghan strives to provide each client with the best options and resources for their individual needs in a safe and confidential environment. Meaghan works with individuals on a wide array of issues including depression, anxiety, burnout, stress, job related concerns, communication, relationships, grief and loss, as well as maintaining sobriety and overcoming crises in the home/workplace. She has experience in outpatient and inpatient clinical settings, the criminal justice system and in substance abuse treatment centers.
