Khoi Bishop is interested in a collaborative approach to therapy which allows people to achieve their goals by identifying individual patterns of thoughts, emotions, body feelings and actions. This approach allows them to recognize how their thinking patterns affects their behaviors in life. His theoretical orientation is cognitive behavior therapy, which emphasizes Aaron Beck’s Cognitive Triad of the self, the world or environment, and the future, and how these principles help shape one’s automatic thought process.

Khoi's main focus is working with individuals who struggle with gender identity issues, sexuality and anger management. He has served on the UAB Safe Zone Committee, and as a member of the UAB Safe Zone Training Committee. He also works with individuals who may struggle with suicide, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress, sexual traumas and other issues specific to LGBTQIA individuals and their allies. Khoi’s pronouns are he/him/his.
