In alignment with best practice in shift differentials, UAB Human Resources has revised HR Policy 204 and Section 5.2 of the “You and UAB Handbook” for eligible nonexempt employees who work evenings and nights.
The standard evening shift now begins at 3 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m., and the standard night shift begins at 11 p.m. and ends at 7 a.m. Effective mid-September, the Campus KRONOS system will automatically classify worked hours into the correct shift differential based on the revised policy.
