Summer Challenge 5 in 5
2014 Program Dates:
Friday, June 27 to August 1
Register on-site at the Green Screen event on June 27 to participate.
What is the Summer 5 in 5 Challenge?
A 5-week program that focuses on nutrition and physical activity.
Weekly weigh-in sessions will allow participants to track their progress throughout the challenge.
All weigh-ins will be Fridays at Green Screens from 11 to 1 in the UAB Hospital North Pavilion Main Lobby.
Participants must attend an initial weigh-in and the weigh-out to be eligible for prizes.
The other weigh-ins are optional.
Participants who have met at least one of the goals will be eligible for prizes that will be raffled off August 1 during the weigh-out.
- Lower blood pressure 5 points in 5 weeks (systolic and diastolic)
- Lose 5 pounds in 5 weeks
- Engage in 5 designated activities in 5 weeks

Weigh-out – August 1 (mandatory)
* You may use any of the weigh-ins as an initial weigh-in for your starting weight. However, you must still meet one of the goals by the weigh-out on August 1 to be eligible for prizes.
How to Win Prizes
To be eligible to win prize, participants MUST attend an initial weigh-in AND the weigh-out on August 1. Additionally, participants must achieve at least ONE of the following goals: (1) lose 5 pounds in 5 weeks, (2) lower blood pressure by 5 points in 5 weeks (systolic and diastolic), or (3) engage in 5 designated activities in 5 weeks.
Each participant will be given a punch card at their initial weigh-in. Participants are to keep up with this punch card until the end of the challenge. Each activity will have a Summer Challenge employee present to punch a hole in your card for that activity. Participants will be given one hole punch for every designated activity they participate in.
