In late August 2018, Institutional Effectiveness & Analysis was made aware of an issue in the operational data store (ODS) that resulted from Banner database upgrades conducted in mid-April 2018. The ODS is the database used to produce the census reports each term. Essentially, as a result of the Banner upgrade in April, a number of records were not automatically loaded into the ODS. Once recognized, IEA and IT collaborated to fully and accurately reinstate the missing data and conducted meticulous audits to ensure complete restoration.
As a result of these technical issues, the previously reported summer census and credit hour production (CHP) data were found to be understated, but have now been revised and verified. Moreover, IT and IEA have enhanced their audit processes and procedures to ensure that any issues resulting from future Banner upgrades are promptly identified and corrected.
