UAB IT and UAB Facilities are currently developing a west campus data center, located in the newly constructed University Hall. The goal of the project is to provide network connectivity to 60 buildings in the western area of campus, as well as secondary facilities for core and Internet services. The current network services are housed in the Education Building, which is scheduled for demolition early 2021. Migration from the legacy facilities to the new data center will impact connectivity to buildings and services currently serviced from the Education Building core.
A town hall will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, for stakeholders to have an opportunity to ask questions about the migration. Join via Zoom.
