How can I get full-text access to library resources via the VPN?

LHL does not recommend using the VPN to access full-text resources. If you have trouble accessing library resources from off campus, check to be sure the VPN is disconnected.

The UAB VPN has a split tunnel configuration. This means that once you leave the campus network, your computer is no longer recognized as a UAB machine. Since the EZProxy server that authenticates off campus users for access to resources is on the campus network, it thinks that you are on campus and doesn't prompt you to authenticate. Thus, you may have trouble accessing resources such as not seeing the full-text at all, asked to pay for articles, not being able to search a database, etc.
