We are incredibly excited to partner with the Sparkman Center for Global Health in sponsoring the Fall 2019 Global Health Case Competition

The Global Health Case Competition (GHCC) is an exciting and unique opportunity for students at UAB to come together as multidisciplinary teams and propose innovative recommendations to a global health issue. All UAB students are encouraged to participate. Students can sign up as individuals or as a team. To register as a team, gather at least 4 students representing at least 3 UAB schools. An example for a team might be 1 graduate student from the SOPH, 1 undergraduate public health major, one enginnering major, and two graduate students from the Collat School of Business.

How does it work?

The case will be released via email to the team captains on Monday, October 28th in the afternoon. Teams will be assigned a faculty or professional mentor with whom they will be able to meet for 1 hour during the week of the case competition to get feedback on their ideas. Teams present their proposals during a 15 minute presentation on Saturday, November 2nd to a panel of judges followed by a 10 minute Q&A from the judges. The 3 finalists teams will be announced at a luncheon following the presentations. Finalists will then present again to the full panel of judges and winners will be announced after.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

1st Place Team-- $1,500

2nd Place Team-- $1,000

3rd Place Team-- $500
