Dr. Nazari is an Associate Professor with a dual appointment in the Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering and the School of Public Health at University of Alabama at Birmingham. His primary research interests are: application of remote sensing in water resources and environment, Coastal resiliency, hydrodynamic modeling, storm water management and impact assessment of extreme weather events on built environment. He has worked on New York and New Jersey Resiliency planning has been a pioneer in identification of the high risk areas and prediction of the possible damages and cost analysis under various extreme climatic scenarios. He has received over $3,200,000 in funding from federal, state and industry for his research.

We hosted Dr. Nazari on September 4,for his talk "Resiliency and Vulnerability Planning Through High-Resolution Sensing and Multi-Scale Modeling." Click here to view the recorded lecture.
