The Palliative Medicine Clinic at The 1917 Clinic began in 2002 and is available upon Board Certified Palliative Medicine Specialists or patient self-referral for patients who are HIV positive and have pronounced symptom burden or advanced illness.

The Board Certified Palliative Medicine Specialists available during these clinics have particular expertise in complex symptom management including depression, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, pain syndromes, etc.

Particular attention is given to all areas of potential patient suffering including physical, psychological, emotional or social dimensions. Advance care planning and resetting patient centered goals of care are also a prominent part of the work between patients and physicians in this clinic.

Appointment times are available on the the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Tuesday mornings each month.
