Under the leadership of Sumanth Prabhu, MD (Chairman) and Massoud Leesar, MD (Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory), the Division of Cardiovascular Disease has put in place a new structural heart disease program.

The program offers comprehensive treatment of all aspects of adult structural heart disease, including:

  • ASD/PFO closure
  • Valvuloplasty (both aortic and mitral
  • Closure of paravalvar periprosthetic regurgitation
  • Valve-in-valve procedures for degenerated bioprosthesis in patients inoperable or at high surgical risk
  • Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
  • Left atrial appendage closure
  • Mitral clip therapy

The program will also participate actively in clinical trials - both industry funded trials and investigator initiated projects. Our aim is to develop a comprehensive structural heart disease program with strong collegial collaboration with other cardiovascular professionals that include cardiac surgeons, pediatric interventional cardiologists, and non-invasive cardiac imaging experts.
