Ending HIV in Alabama LogoThe purpose of this request for application (RFA) is to assist the statewide effort to eliminate HIV by promoting advances along the HIV Care Continuum geared toward achieving the United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) 90-90-90 targets: 90% of all individuals with HIV knowing their diagnosis, 90% of those diagnosed on treatment, and 90% of those on treatment achieving suppression of their virus. In understanding the importance of community-driven initiatives, this funding seeks to build upon and expand organizations’ capacity in ending the HIV epidemic in Alabama. Funding will support new, innovative projects and initiatives that impact one or more areas along the HIV Care Continuum including primary prevention (reducing new HIV infections) and secondary prevention (reducing severity of HIV through early detection and linkage, increasing medication and visit adherence, and reducing high-risk activities).
