The CNC supports and collaborates with many community organizations.
Our community commitment can be seen in the NeuroScience Cafe events at the Hoover and Homewood Libraries. Once a month, neuroscientists and clinicians present discussion on topics in neuroscience. Past topics have included depression, multiple sclerosis and autism.
The CNC is also a supporter of the annual Brain Awareness Week (BAW) event that takes place each year during spring break. UAB neuroscientists and trainees descend upon the McWane Center and offer hands-on activities for K-12 students. We stimulate minds and nurture future neuroscientists!
The CNC can also be spotted partnering with local organizations in their efforts to raise awareness and research funds for neuro-related illnesses. The CNC was seen recently at events organized by Autism Speaks, American Society for Suicide Prevention and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
