Description |
Congenital factor VII deficiency is rare and is inherited as one of several autosomal recessive mutations. Acquired factor VII deficiency is caused by liver disease, vitamin K deficiency or the use of Coumadin (warfarin) therapy. Factor VII deficiency is associated with moderate to severe bleeding. The combination of a prolonged prothrombin time and normal partial thromboplastin time may indicate factor VII deficiency. |
