Vickers-BookcaseThe past year at the School of Medicine has been marked by so many noteworthy achievements, both large and small, that it’s impossible to list them all here. But one recent accomplishment stands out: The School of Medicine has risen in the National Institutes of Health funding ranking to number 26, with $156 million in grant support, up significantly from last year and our first positive growth in 12 years.

This is a testament to the dedication and effort put forth by School of Medicine leadership and faculty. It also demonstrates the leveraging power of philanthropy, for many of our NIH research grants were made possible by seed funding provided by our generous alumni and friends. It is inspiring to see these efforts bear fruit, and we look forward to continuing this upward momentum in the coming years.

The NIH rankings news capped an eventful year. For a video slideshow of highlights from 2014, please click here or scroll down to the bottom of the page.

From the School of Medicine family to you and yours, happy holidays and best wishes for 2015.

Sincerely,
