I confess, the last ten days of our new world order have been tough for me. The adrenalin has subsided, and the novelty of changing over to a different way of daily living has definitely worn off. Last Sunday it rained all day, and I never left the house. It was a dark day.

Among the victims of COVID-19 last week was the mailman-turned-singer-songwriter, John Prine. Music was a hobby for Prine until he became involved with the Chicago folk revival and was discovered by the film critic Roger Ebert and country music legend Kris Kristofferson. He was a brilliant lyricist, acclaimed as one of the most influential songwriters of his generation.

People have repeatedly, and aptly, compared what lies ahead for us to a marathon. Just as with the marathon, we are certain to have highs and lows in the coming weeks. There has been a lot of preparation, and now we must execute the plans.
