Casondra MatthewsCasondra Matthews has been selected as the Department of Medicine Employee of the Month for August 2018! Casondra is a Program Manager II in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine. She was notified by Kara Newton, Division Administrator, Elizabeth Westfall, Program Director III, and Department of Medicine representatives Cynthia Joiner, Assistant Vice Chair for Research, and Shane Wiley, Interim Executive Administrator.    

Casondra has been with the Division for many years and is a valued member of the team. She regularly goes above and beyond to assist multiple investigators with grant submission, and she always helps her co-workers with billing questions. She does whatever it takes to meet deadlines and gives special attention to each project, finding creative solutions to problems and road blocks. Her responsiveness exceeds any reasonable expectation, and her work is complete, accurate and arrives ahead of deadlines. Casondra’s efforts are nothing short of heroic.

Casondra projects a positive image, is sincere, honest and open-minded. She is kind and pleasant to everyone in the office and is welcoming to new staff. She is a professional at all times with both internal and external collaborators, and she has also developed invaluable working relationships with research and financial compliance offices on campus. Casondra is a joy to work with and has a positive and can do attitude that encourages everyone who works with her. A suggestion would be to place her picture on the DOM staff mission statement!
