Phillips Janice 1Janice Phillips has been selected as the Department of Medicine Employee of the Month for May 2019! Janice is a Program Manager in the Division of Preventive Medicine. She was notified by Department of Medicine Executive Administrator Shane Wiley and Dr. Gareth Dutton.

Janice has been in the Division of Preventive Medicine for several years and is consistently an encouraging and optimistic force on the team. In her role, she manages three community-based research projects, supervising and coordinating a team of research staff conducting all aspects of study implementation. Janice is often the go-to member for participants who are particularly difficult to schedule or follow through on appointments, and she is continuously generating and piloting novel strategies in studies to maximize participant recruitment and retention.

Janice is quick to offer praise and shows her gratitude when tasks are accomplished. She is willing to invest the time to listen to and understand her coworkers, creating a sense of trust. Another strength is her ability to connect and maintain relationships with her participants and colleagues. It is evident through her daily work that she is dedicated to represent and uphold the standards set by UAB.

Please join us in congratulating Janice for being selected as Department of Medicine Employee of the Month for May 2019! A reception will be held in her honor on Friday, June 7, from 1p.m. – 2p.m. in the Medical Towers Building, room 634.
