Biography

Dr. Benjamin von Schweinitz serves as an Assistant Professor and Assistant Director for Quality and Patient Safety for the Department of Emergency Medicine. He completed medical school and internship at the University of South Carolina and residency training at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio Texas where he served as chief resident.   After residency Dr. von Schweinitz was selected and assigned to the Air Force Special Operations Command, AFSOC, Special Operations Surgical Team or SOST.  During his time on active duty, Dr. von Schweinitz deployed to multiple austere locations and lead medical training for different national and international agencies. His interest are tactical medicine, disaster response, and trauma resuscitation.
