UAB University Hospital is a 1152-bed facility that serves as a tertiary referral center for the state of Alabama and beyond.  As one of the largest academic medical centers in the nation, UAB encompasses 11 city blocks.

The BVAMC is a 313-bed facility located in downtown Birmingham, across the street from UAB University Hospital.  It provides primary care services to Birmingham’s veterans and serves as the main referral center for the state of Alabama.

The nationally recognized UAB ACE Unit is an inpatient general medicine unit that provides acutely ill older adults with the highest quality, holistic, person-centered care guided by an interdisciplinary team to promote health, prevent complications, optimize function, and preserve dignity.  Watch this video to learn more about the UAB ACE Unit.

Using an interdisciplinary team approach, this clinic provides state-of-the-art primary care and outpatient consultations for older adults. In addition to nurses and physicians, clinic patients benefit from an on-site social working, chaplain, and audiologist. Clinic staff also provide a home visit program for select patients.

South Health and Rehabilitation, LLC, is located within walking distance of the UAB campus. Though the facility is smaller, it provides quality skilled-nursing care to its residents and additional learning opportunities in sub-acute care, outpatient rehabilitation therapy services, and long-term care for our fellows.
