M.D. Program
The M.D. program prepares students to practice and teach medicine primarily in clinical settings.

Primary Care Track
The Primary Care Track is a four-year M.D. program designed to provide students a strong foundation in clinical medicine focused on primary care.

Early Decision Program
The School of Medicine participates in the AMCAS Early Decision Program (EDP) which gives applicants the opportunity to apply early in the application year and know of your acceptance decision by Oct. 1. 

M.D./Ph.D. Program
The University of Alabama at Birmingham offers an NIH-funded Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP), a combined M.D./Ph.D. program designed to prepare students for careers that combine laboratory investigation of disease mechanisms with the practice and teaching of clinical medicine in an academic setting.

M.D./MPH Program
The MD/Master of Public Health Program provides students with a fuller and richer perspective of community and global health issues including the epidemiology of disease, health behavior, the impact of environmental and occupational factors on patient health, disease progression, management of disease states, access to care and health policy as well as social, legal, and ethical issues.  

M.D./MSPH Program
The MD/Master of Science in Public Health Program prepares students for research-oriented careers as the MSPH is an academic research degree designed for those students seeking specialization in one area of public health. 

M.D./MBA Program
The MD/Master of Business Administration Program prepares students to use innovation and design thinking to solve health care problems and become fluent in the language of medicine and business. The degree opens opportunities for physicians to have leadership responsibilities within their organizations as well as helping to learn how to manage today's increasingly complex healthcare challenges.

Rural Medicine Programs
Jointly sponsored program designed to increase the number of family-practice physicians serving rural Alabama.

Advanced Standing/Transfer
A limited number of advanced-standing places may be available each year.

Blaze to M.D. Program
The Blaze to M.D. Program helps students improve their academic knowledge base before beginning medical school. Students selected for this 11-month program earn a Master of Science in Biomedical and Health Sciences and gain admission to the UAB School of Medicine. The MS in Biomedical and Health Sciences program is a partnership between the UAB School of Health Professions and the UAB School of Medicine.
