Dr. Abraham-Philip graduated from Mahatma Gandhi University in Kerala, India. She completed her residency with us, UAB Huntsville Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Abraham-Philip rounds with residents on inpatient and outpatient services. She is the Director of Morning Report Curriculum and SIM Lab.

Alan Baggett, MD, FACP

Assistant Program Director & Assistant Professor of Medicine

Dr. Baggett graduated from The University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his residency at San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Consortium. He served as the APD for Keesler Internal Medicine Residency Program in Biloxi, Mississippi. Dr. Baggett rounds with residents on inpatient and outpatient services. Dr. Baggett is in charge with teaching residents bedside procedures.

Fanning John

John E. Fanning, MD, FACP

Dr. Fanning graduated from University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed his residency at Wake Forrest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Fanning rounds with residents on inpatient and outpatient services. His longstanding expertise in outpatient medicine adds to the tremendous value to enhance the outpatient exerpience for the residents.

Humphrey William 2018William Humphrey, MD

Director, Critical Care Service

Dr. Humphrey coordinates and implements the didactic and experiential component of Critical Care Medicine for each level of training, and participates in the evaluation and promotion committee and other committees of the residency program. He is a proven teacher with awards during his residency.

Ibrahim Farrah 2019

Farrah Ibrahim, MD, FACP, Program Director

Associate Professor of Medicine

Dr. Ibrahim graduated from the University of Baghdad School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Montefiore - Mt. Vernon Hospital in Mount Vernon, New York. She comleted her Geriatrics Fellowship with North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Ibrahim rounds with residents on inpatient and outpatient services. Dr. Ibrahim maintains the weekly Didactics and mentors residents in scholarly activities and qaulity improvement projects. She is in charge of the required Geriatrics rotations as well as the Patient Safety/Quality Improvement elective. Dr. Ibrahim has been with UAB since 2004. 

Ivey Kelsey LabcoatKelsey Ivey, MD

Assistant Professor of Medicine

Dr. Ivey graduated from Harvard University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Vanderbilt University and then Infectious Disease Fellowship at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Ivey rounds with residents on inpatient and outpatient services. Dr. Ivey's expertise in Infectious Disease Medicine is a great addition to our residents' education.

Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine

Dr. Montgomery graduated from Tufts University Schoolof Medicine. She completed her residency at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Montgomery is the Clinical Director of our Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic. She is a valuable preceptor for the clinic. She is in charge of the bimonthly ambulatory didactics curriculum.

Sheila Shah, MD, FACP

Dr. Shah graduated from The University School of Medicine and completed an internal medicine/pediatric residency at University of Kentucky. Dr. Shah is a valuable preceptor in our Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic. She also helps with the bimonthly ambulatory didactics.

 

Yedla Parekha

Parekha Yedla, MD, FACP

Associate Professor of Medicine

Dr. Yedla graduated from Gandhi Medical College in Hyderbad, India and completed her residency at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. She rounds with residents on inpatient and outpatient services. She is the point faculty for training current residents on how to teach effectively. She is a pioneer in High Value Care and developing scholarly activities with our residents in High Value Care. Dr. Yedla has been with UAB since 2004.

Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy

Dr. Steuber is a clinical pharmacy specialist with the UAB Division of Internal Medicine in Huntsville, Alabama. Dr. Steuber graduated from University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Pharmacy and completed a 24-month Pharmacotherapy Residency at Indiana University Health/Butler University. He specializes in inpatient internal medicine and rounds with inpatient internal medicine teams daily at Huntsville Hospital.

Dr. Wright is a clinical pharmacy specialist with the UAB Division of Internal Medicine in Huntsville, AL. Dr. Wright graduated from Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Huntsville Hospital. He specializes in outpatient medicine and collaborates with ambulatory residents and faculty in the clinic to provide Comprehensive Medication Management services.
