The student-run mental health clinic (MHC) gives UASOM medical students an opportunity to provide longitudinal psychiatric care to patients. Student doctors operate their own mini practice under the supervision of UAB psychiatry residents and attending physicians, following patients over time and adapting care to their needs. The ultimate goal of the MHC is to provide excellent psychiatric care while simultaneously fostering the interpersonal skills future doctors need to be successful.

Details?

The MHC provides outpatient psychiatric care to patients for depression, anxiety disorders, panic disorders and ADHD.
Clinic runs Tuesdays at 4:30pm in the Sparks Center, 9th floor.
MHC is managed by the Psychiatry Student Interest Group in conjunction with the Department of Psychiatric and Behavioral Neurobiology.
