ABSTRACTS

  • View the KUH Conference Abstract Template, this can be used for both the EXPO and KUH Conference if desired(250 word limit, additional details and helpful tips attached)
  • Abstracts are submitted 3 times:
    • Pipeline programs deadline - July 21st by 5:00 PM – Pipeline Programs: rbecker@uab.edu
    • UAB EXPO deadline - July 21 – 25 – via Canvas Course (details will be emailed to you by the UAB Undergraduate Research Office)
    • NIH KUH Conference deadline – July 26: Rachel Pisarski, RPisarski@scgcorp.com, please cc rbecker@uab.edu(feel free to send earlier if ready)

EVENT SPECIFIC DETAILS

July 26 – 30 – UAB Summer Research Expo (virtual)
  • All scholars are registered by the Pipeline Office
  • Posters Recordings and abstracts are to be uploaded between July 21 – 25.
*Details on the process of loading abstract and poster recording will be sent via email next week from the UAB Undergraduate Research Office.
*Please note, KURE deadline for abstracts is different than the website – see above.
  • Mentors and supervisors, you will need to REGISTER for the EXPO as well in order to take part in the EXPO
August 2nd– UAB KURE Symposium

Spain-Wallace Auditorium - 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM

  • 5 minute oral presentation with 1-2 minute Q&A
  • 3 sections of presenters (7 presenters in each section)

Lunch Reception and Award Announcements to follow - Kaul Lobby (2nd Floor)

August 4 – 5 – NIH KUH Summer Research Conference (virtual)

The meeting is expected to run from 9:30am-3:30pm (CT) on August 4th and 5th*

  • Poster sessions will be conducted in small groups, utilizing breakout rooms.
  • Each student will have 10 minutes to walk folks through their poster, with another 5 minutes for Q&A.&
  • Given the virtual setting, students may choose to use a powerpoint/slide format instead of displaying a PDF poster format, student preference
  • Please submit abstract for NIH KUH conference to: Rachel Pisarski (details above) by July 26th
