Personal Info

Dr. Mason was born in New York and also spent part of her childhood in the Tampa Bay area.  She graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor of science. She majored in neuroscience which is where she first developed her love of neurology.  She then went on to get her MD at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She completed her internship in internal medicine, residency in neurology, and fellowship in clinical neurophysiology here at UAB. She is a certified diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Mason joined the UAB faculty as an assistant professor in 2012. She sees patients at UAB Highlands on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday,and Friday. She performs electrophysiological studies for neuromuscular diseases at the UAB Sparks center on Wednesday mornings.

Special Interests:
Dr. Mason has a special interest in epilepsy as well as neuromuscular diseases. She also has training and expertise in botox for migraine headache and vagal nerve stimulation for refractory epilepsy.
