Heersink faculty and staff gathered in different spots around Birmingham to welcome the incoming class of medical students with celebrations.

On May 20, 2023, Heersink School of Medicine hosted its 2023 Commencement ceremony at Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Alabama to celebrate its 186 graduating medical students.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine celebrated its recent accreditation, the highest level of accreditation available to a medical school in the United States by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), on Tuesday, Jan. 10.

Five faculty members across the UAB Heersink School of Medicine were selected as new Clinical Skills Scholars for 2022-23. The Clinical Skills Scholars are group of 32 clinical faculty selected for their excellence in teaching, who continuously develop the clinical skills of medical students.
