Kendra produces and edits content for the School of Medicine and manages social media. Kendra cut her teeth at Alabama newspapers, covering various beats as a reporter at The (Talladega) Daily Home, The (Scottsboro) Daily Sentinel and The Gadsden Times, before joining UAB in 2013. She earned a  bachelor's degree in journalism from Auburn University and a master's degree in public administration from UAB. 
Eleven outstanding faculty members were named recipients of the 2016 Dean’s Excellence Awards, an honor recognizing exceptional contributions made by School of Medicine faculty in service, teaching, research, diversity enhancement and mentorship.
