Mack, MBA, has been named the associate dean for Administration and Finance in the School of Medicine, and Toni Leeth, MPH, will have a revised role as assistant dean for Strategic Planning and Administration— part of a restructuring in the school’s day-to-day administrative operations.

Mack has been director of operations for the Department of Medicine for one year and has served in several positions in the School of Medicine, including as a financial officer in the Dean’s Office and division administrator in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, since she joined UAB in 2002.

In her new role, Mack will be responsible for financial management of the school and oversight of the finance and human resources departments. She will report to Dawn Bulgarella, who was recently named Chief Financial Officer of UAB Medicine. Mack’s appointment is effective Nov. 1.

“It is an honor to be offered the opportunity to return to the Dean’s office,” Mack said.  “I look forward to working with SOM leadership to accomplish our goals and identify needs for continued success.”

Leeth is also chief of staff in the School of Medicine.

Leeth’s expanded role is effective Oct. 1, and she will report directly to Selwyn M. Vickers, M.D., senior vice president for Medicine and dean of the School of Medicine.

“Continued growth and effectiveness in our mission requires us to concentrate efforts in strategic areas and maintain a healthy financial position,” Vickers said. “I’m happy to have LaKisha bring her expertise back to the Dean’s Office to watch over the school’s financial well-being and provide support at both the school and department level.  Toni has proven her leadership abilities at UAB, and her vision will continue to be an asset to the school as we move forward.”
