UAB School of Medicine’s Office for Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) was selected to lead a deep-dive workshop at the AAMC Group on Diversity and Inclusion conference, entitled “Diversity and Inclusion Programming in Academic Medicine: An Interactive Development Model.”
Majd Zayzafoon, M.D., Ph.D., MBA, professor in Pathology and Medical Education, has been named the assistant dean for International Medical Education and the assistant provost for International Education in the Office of the Senior Vice Provost effective May 1, 2018.
Linda Overstreet-Wadiche, Ph.D., associate professor in the UAB Department of Neurobiology, has been named chairperson of the Neurogenesis and Cell Fate Study Section for the Center for Scientific Review
The UAB School of Medicine and Southern Research will host the Scientific Symposium on Precision Medicine, Neurosciences and Infectious Diseases Friday, July 27. The symposium will be held at the UAB Alumni House from 8 a.m.-5p.m.
Mona Fouad, M.D., MPH, has been named co-chair of the Science Committee for the All of Us Research Program. 

Congratulations on your acceptance to medical school! This is a tremendous achievement that is worth celebration. I hope that you are enjoying your summer and taking a well-deserved break.
