Centor named chair-elect of American College of Physicians Board of Regents

robert centor 2009 1Bob Centor, M.D., professor of internal medicine and associate dean of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine’s Huntsville Program, has been named chair-elect of the Board of Regents of the American College of Physicians for 2013-14. The Board of Regents manages the business and affairs of ACP. It is the main policy-making body of the college.

Centor will assume the position of chair at the conclusion of the annual business meeting at Internal Medicine 2014 in Orlando, Fla.

The ACP is a national organization of internists — physicians who specialize in the prevention, detection and treatment of illnesses in adults. ACP is the largest medical-specialty organization, and the second-largest physician group in the United States. Its membership of 133,000 includes internists, internal medicine subspecialists, medical students, residents and fellows.
