Victor J. Dzau, M.D., an expert in cardiovascular medicine and genetics, will present at the 2016 Frontiers of Cardiovascular Tissue Engineering Seminar at UAB on Friday, August 19.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine will hold its White Coat Ceremony for first-year medical students at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14. Each of the 186 new members of the Class of 2020 will be presented with the traditional white coat in the presence of family, friends, faculty and staff.
The third annual Heart + Sole 5K and Kids’ Run will be on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Crestline Elementary. Funds raised will benefit Equal Access Birmingham, the School of Medicine student-run free clinic, which provides education and health care to Birmingham’s uninsured and underserved.
