Lindsay Rhodes, M.D., is an associate professor of ophthalmology. She joined the department in 2013 as a comprehensive ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist. Dr. Rhodes is also involved in clinical research, and her interests include understanding and developing new strategies, such as provider extenders and telemedicine, to provide quality, cost-effective glaucoma care to a rapidly growing aging population. She is currently leading a study funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to create a telemedicine program to detect eye disease in rural, at-risk Alabamians. She graduated with honors from Brown University and then obtained her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. She completed an ophthalmology residency and a glaucoma fellowship at UAB. She has an interest in advocating for ophthalmology and her patients and as such, serves on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology.
