Biography

Dr. William Garth, M.D. has been a member of the UAB Department of Surgery faculty since 1984. He has achieved the rank of Professor. He is a surgical provider in the UAB Sports Medicine Clinic, which serves the UAB Blazer Athletics Department and multiple local schools and organizations.

He has also been an instructor at both the undergraduate and post-graduate levels, establishing a Sports Medicine Fellowship in 1987.

Dr. Garth’s research activities, particularly those pertaining to the knee and shoulder, have contributed to our understanding of the complexities of the subtle diagnoses and treatment problem associated with high caliber athletes.
