Biography

Dr. Kennieth ‘"Kenny" C. McCollough, Jr. joined UAB Department of Orthopaedics, Section of Sports Medicine on October 1, 2017. Dr. McCollough is trained in non-operative treatment of orthopaedic and sports medicine. Originally from Mississippi, Dr. McCollough began his career as an athletic trainer and physical therapist and came to Alabama in 1997. He graduated from medical school in 2008 and completed internal medicine residency with Baptist Health Systems in 2011. After a sports medicine fellowship with American Sports Medicine Institute, Dr. McCollough was in private practice in Florence and recently in Sylacauga. His clinical interests include tendinopathies, orthobiologics, medical ultrasound applications, concussion and arthritis. Dr. McCollough has served as team physician for multiple high schools and will assist with providing care of UAB athletes as well.
