Biography
Dr. Mohamed Morsy joined the faculty of UAB’s Department of Surgery in 2022. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery.
Dr. Morsy is an orthopedic surgeon trained in microsurgery and peripheral nerve surgery, with experience in microsurgical reconstruction of extremities and brachial plexus surgery. He has been in academia for over 10 years and has several publications and book chapters in hand and reconstructive microsurgery.
Dr. Morsy received his medical degree from Assiut University in Egypt. He also completed his residency at Assiut University in Egypt, where he was inducted as a member of the Egyptian Orthopaedic Association, AO Trauma Foundation and SICOT-International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology. He completed his fellowship in microsurgery and peripheral nerve surgery at Assiut University in Egypt, as well as completed his research fellowship in the Division of Plastic Surgery at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, MN.
