acute orthopaedic injuries; post-traumatic deformities and nonunions; acute and delayed reconstruction of pelvic and acetabular fractures; adult hip osteotomy; hip arthritis; blood conservation in orthopedic trauma patients; polytrauma patient care and outcomes research; pelvic, acetabular and peri-articular fracture outcomes research; biomechanical constructs in fracture fixation
Biography
Dr. Clay Spitler is a board-certified orthopaedic trauma surgeon and an associate professor in the UAB Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. After finishing medical school at the Medical College of Georgia in 2008, Spitler completed a surgery residency at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga and an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle. Spitler joined the faculty at UAB in July 2018.
