The Joint Center places particular emphasis on translational research endeavors by studying clinically relevant pathologies prevalent in the community that UAB serves through extensive clinical research. We then translate our clinical findings to the laboratory benchtop to further understand these pathologies on the molecular level with hopes of discovering novel treatments and preventative techniques. Our research infrastructure supports clinical research assistants, a PhD candidate, and an orthopedic lab located on campus at the Bevill building.
