Whitley inaugural recipient of NIH Distinguished Clinical Research Scholar award
Dr. Rich Whitley has been invited to be the inaugural recipient of the "NIH Clinical Center's Distinguished Clinical Research Scholar and Educator in Residence" award. This award was made possible by funds the NIH Clinical Center received upon receiving last year's Lasker~Bloomberg Public Service Award. The award will annually select an established clinical investigator with outstanding scientific credentials who has also demonstrated a career devoted to teaching and mentoring. The NIH Medical Executive Committee selected Whitley for this award after an international review of potential recipients.
As a recipient, Whitley will visit the NIH Clinical Center for several days to present Clinical Center Grand Rounds, participate on Professor Rounds in his area of expertise, interact with NIH senior investigators and participate in a series of small meetings and discussions with clinical fellows focusing on career development in general, pathways to success and the importance of networking and scientific collaborations.
