Nursing trainees are eligible to receive tuition assistance for the academic year, as well as a monthly stipend. Students are typically in the traineeship for 12 months, January through December.

This traineeship is planned to supplement UAB graduate school requirements with advanced training in leadership and interdisciplinary care of children with pulmonary conditions. Other graduate programs in nursing will also be considered.

PPC Nursing groupThe trainee participates in a variety of classroom and clinical experiences within the Pulmonary Division of the UAB Department of Pediatrics at Children’s of Alabama. This is a wonderful opportunity to work closely on an interdisciplinary team with advanced practice nurses, physicians, social workers, respiratory care practitioners, nutritionists, and other health professionals of related disciplines. We care for children with chronic and acute pulmonary conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings.

As the nursing faculty for the PPC, I hope you will consider this opportunity. I would be delighted to talk with you further, if you are interested in learning more about the traineeship or would like to receive an application for the traineeship. My number is 205 638-6580 or 205 638-9583. My e-mail address is Theresa.Rodgers@childrensal.org.
