    About Me

My favorite thing to do in Birmingham is find a great patio to sit out on (Grand Bohemian, Avondal...)and enjoy the weather or watch a football game. I love how into sports the whole city is. A fun fact about me that I was on a Disney reality show called Bug Juice when I was in middle school. It is very embarrassing. It followed kids at the summer camp I went to growing up.  I came to UAB To be near family and work on my southern accent! My husband is from Birmingham and I fell in love with the city when we came to visit his family. The program was also a perfect fit for me. Exposure to all the sub-specialties while also seeing the "bread and butter" pediatric patients.

    About Me

A few of my hobbies include sleeping, shopping-especially for cool home d├ęcor, and face-timing my 18 month old nephew and 10 month old niece! As for some of my favorite things to do in Birmingham, I love to ride around the city appreciating the beautiful rolling hills and trying out new restaurants and bars. One of my favorite quotes is "It always seems impossible until it's done" by Nelson Mandela. The reason I came to UAB was because the residents that I met during my interview, expressed how much they enjoyed training at UAB even amidst the demands of residency, because of the amazing support that they received from their co-residents and also from the faculty and staff. Now as an intern I wholeheartedly agree that the support is very real and I am motivated and inspired every day by the individuals that I get to work with and learn from!

    About Me

A few of my hobbies are cooking, traveling and exploring new cities. My favorite things in Birmingham are Steel City Pops and UAB Pediatrics! One of my favorite quotes is "In a gentle way, you can shake the world." by Mohandas Gandhi. A fun fact about me is that my nickname is Spud. The reason I came to UAB was to learn from passionate people who can teach me to become a more competent and compassionate physician.

    About Me

Ask me about UGA and Atlanta sports, my favorite Birmingham karaoke spots, and/or the next good concert in town. As I begin my Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency, my current long-term goal is to provide continuity care for children and adults with chronic pediatric diseases. I sing in the Canterbury United Methodist Church choir on Sundays when I'm not working.
