Dr. Henningsen earned her M.D. from UAB. She completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center and its affiliate the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center before pursuing subspecialty fellowship training in Body Imaging at Stanford University.  Dr. Henningsen's professional interests include body imaging, resident education, medical journalism, and telehealth and its applications.
   
   
   
 

 
   

The UAB Department of Radiology serves a pivotal and critical role in support of comprehensive patient care provided by the UAB Health System. 

Over 81 highly trained radiologists in every sub-specialty field form the foundation of diagnostic and therapeutic services are available to patients throughout the country. 

Research

The UAB Department of Radiology has active research in clinical, translational and basic science disciplines. Our research includes external funding portfolios and collaborative research with UAB and regional investigators.

Education

Our mission is to graduate well rounded, excellently trained radiologists capable of performing and interpreting a comprehensive range of radiologic procedures, who embrace the challenge of life-long learning in Radiology.

Patient Care

Our physicians and staff provide continuous support for our inpatient and outpatient facilities, including the state’s only ACS certified adult Level I trauma center.
